CCU student media students travel to New York for conference
The student media staff at Coastal Carolina University traveled to New York City March 6-9 to attend the Student Media Conference hosted by the College Media Association. The staff includes editors and art directors on the student newspaper, The Chanticleer, the student features magazine, Tempo, and the student art and literary magazine, Archarios.

CCU students win Student Involvement Leadership Awards
Coastal Carolina University held its annual Student Involvement Leadership Awards ceremony on April 29, 2019. The event recognizes students and student organizations who have excelled at leadership and service throughout the academic year. Eight students were awarded and seven organizations were recognized.

Two Coastal Carolina University students earned awards at the Collegiate South Carolina Press Association Awards on April 6 in Columbia, S.C. Both students are members of The Chanticleer student newspaper executive staff.

CCU welcomes its 2020 cohort of Wall Fellows
Coastal Carolina University welcomes nine students to its Class of 2020 Wall Fellows, a two-year program that prepares top students across all majors for high-level careers in major U.S. and international organizations. The highly selective leadership development program is designed to supplement students' regular academic coursework. Along with coursework, the Wall Fellows program also consists of a combination of individual reading and studying, developing a personal mission statement and resume, professional internships, leadership training, project execution and character-building opportunities.

CCU students tapped to lead media outlets on campus
Nine Coastal Carolina University students have taken over leadership positions at The Chanticleer student newspaper; Archarios, the student literary and art magazine; and Tempo, a features magazine. These student-run publications provide current information, art, culture and opinion pieces to Coastal's campus and give students the opportunity to experience industry publishing first hand.

Coastal Carolina University's Archarios wins national ADDY
Archarios, Coastal Carolina University's student art and literary magazine, recently won a silver ADDY for second place in the American Advertising Federation awards (AAF) for the 2015 issue of the magazine. The 2015 issue also won Gold and Best of Show at the local ADDY Awards, held February 2016.

Business students travel to Charlotte for Career Trek
Fourteen Coastal Carolina University business students traveled to Charlotte for a Career Trek to meet with employers over the course of two days. Students met with employers from Aerotek, Vanguard, Red Ventures and Ingersoll Rand and participated in various types of activities, including resume-building and LinkedIn workshops, Q&A sessions with employers and more. The purpose of this trip was to bring top-performing business students to the attention of employers and recruiters in the Charlotte area due to the large percentage of CCU alumni relocating to Charlotte after graduation.
