Whitney Mitchell graduates from Coastal Carolina University

Whitney Mitchell, of Conway, SC, (29526) graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Mitchell was among more than 1,100 candidates for graduation at Coastal Carolina University's commencement exercises on Saturday, May 9, at the HTC Center.

Michael J. Gerson, a nationally syndicated political columnist and former aide to President George W. Bush, addressed the graduating class and received the honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters.

Six students were recognized with the President's Award for Academic Achievement for earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average for their collegiate work. They were: Crystal Brooke Clark, Oxana Sergeyevna Hendrix. Lyndsey Renee King, Jordan Lamar Lauver, Dominic David Saturday and Sommersill Elizabeth Tarabek.
