Thomas Harrelson among CCU students invited to tour Boeing South Carolina

2018 Mar 2

Students from the Grant Center for Real Estate and Economic Development at Coastal Carolina University have been invited to visit Boeing South Carolina in North Charleston on March 5, 2018. The trip will showcase a major industrial facility and provide real estate students and faculty a tour. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of industrial real estate and its dynamic impact on the regional and state economy.

"Real estate studies at the University emphasize a market value approach, requiring an in-depth understanding of the market participants, their products and services, geographical scope, and the communities directly impacted," said Rob Salvino, associate director of the Grant Center and professor of economics. "The Boeing complex is a perfect case study for our work in these areas and we are most grateful to the company for hosting us," he added.

The Boeing tour will inform participants' understanding of several facets of Boeing South Carolina and 787 production.

Students invited include:

Thomas Harrelson, a economics major from Aynor, SC.

The Grant Center for Real Estate and Economic Development links students in real estate, economics, and related programs of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business at Coastal Carolina University with professionals in the industry. One of the center's initiatives is the CCU Real Estate Club, which is open to everyone interested in investment, residential, commercial and industrial real estate. The club hosts several events through Coastal Carolina University, such as technical tours and training seminars. Speakers at regular club meetings include local and regional leaders, along with government officials, who discuss a wide range of pertinent topics. Visit coastal.edu/business/grantcenter.
