Kelly Allen graduates from Coastal Carolina University

Kelly Allen of Loris, SC, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Education degree in Early Childhood Education from Coastal Carolina University on Saturday, Dec. 14.

More than 500 students were eligible to receive their degrees at commencement exercises at the HTC Center.

Michael F. Clayton, recognized as one of the top intellectual property attorneys in the nation, was the speaker. He received the honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, during the event. He urged graduates to balance their drive for commercial success with a goal to serve others.

Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The University offers 66 areas of study toward the baccalaureate degree and seven master's degree programs in accountancy, business administration, education, marine and wetland studies, and writing. The University will offer its first Ph.D. program, in marine science, in fall 2014.

More than 9,400 students from across the country are enrolled at CCU, which offers a world-class faculty, a nationally competitive NCAA I athletic program, an inspiring cultural calendar, and a tradition of community interaction that is fueled by more than 120 student clubs and organizations.
