Freddi Rivers recognized as exemplary mentor at CCU

Coastal Carolina University's Dalton and Linda Floyd Family Mentoring Program recognizes CCU students who have served as a mentor to children in Horry and Georgetown County Schools for more than one year.

Freddi Rivers, a junior majoring in Communication Pre-Major, of Ravenel, SC, has mentored for five semesters at Whittemore Park Middle School.

The mentoring program teaches CCU students to become positive role models for children in South Carolina elementary and middle schools to ensure their success in and out of the classroom. Student typically meet with their mentee once per week to assist with academic work, eat lunch together, or go to recess together.
