Crystol King performs in CCU Wind Ensemble concert "Reflections"

2018 Feb 16

Crystol King, a Music major from Aynor, SC, will be performing in Coastal Carolina University's Wind Ensemble concert "Reflections" on March 1, directed by T. Andre Feagin.

The program features the music of Ron Nelson, Percy Aldridge Grainger, Frank Ticheli and David Maslanka, and will also pay tribute to Black History Month with a performance of "A Movement for Rosa" by Mark Camphouse and selected speeches of Martin Luther King Jr. in spoken word and recorded forms.

The Wind Ensemble is the premiere wind band of Coastal Carolina University. With a goal of developing and refining individual and ensemble musicianship skills, the Wind Ensemble is comprised of the finest wind and percussion students within the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Membership is open to all majors selected by blind audition held at the beginning of the fall semester and as vacancies arise.

The CCU Wind Ensemble strives to deliver engaging performances that are artistic, expressive, and polished. The ensemble presents its audiences with a wide variety of repertoire including chamber music, transcriptions, contemporary music, and works from the standard wind band repertoire. The Wind Ensemble performs four concerts each academic year.
