Ashley Mattocks receives WIPL scholarship at CCU

Twenty-seven Coastal Carolina University students have been awarded scholarships totaling $30,000 for the 2015-2016 academic year through Women in Philanthropy and Leadership for Coastal Carolina University (WIPL). The 2015-2016 recipients are from eight states, including 17 from South Carolina.

Ashley Mattocks of Myrtle Beach, SC, was among the recipients who received the Mr. Scott Pyle and Dr. Pamela Pyle "Make a Difference" Scholarship.

Since its inception in 2007, WIPL has provided 152 scholarships for deserving Coastal Carolina University students. The organization reached a milestone in 2013 when its endowed scholarship fund passed the $100,000 mark, with the potential to generate a $5,000 scholarship to be awarded each year. The second Women in Philanthropy and Leadership Legacy Endowed Scholarship was awarded for the fall 2015 semester.

Recipients of the annual scholarships ($1,000), including those that are donor/honoree-sponsored scholarships, the Scott Pyle and Dr. Pamela Pyle "Make a Difference" Scholarship ($5,000) and the Legacy Endowed Scholarship ($5,000).
