Allie Sheets recognized as major's top student at CCU's Honors Convocation

Each academic department at Coastal Carolina University within the five colleges selects one student to win the departmental award each year, and that student is recognized at Honors Convocation, this year held on May 3. This year, more than 50 graduate and undergraduate students were recognized with this honor.

Departmental awards recognize outstanding academic accomplishments by students as well as contributions to the academic quality of the department. Candidates are nominated and selected by the college faculty.

Among those students recognized:

Allie Sheets, a political science major from Myrtle Beach, SC.

Honors Convocation is held annually at CCU prior to commencement ceremonies, and it recognizes students' academic achievements, honor society inductees, Undergraduate Research Competition award-winners, and awards one Distinguished Student, Teacher and Collegiate Adviser of the Year.
